Should President Biden Be Criticized for Pardoning Hunter?

Should President Biden Be Criticized for Pardoning Hunter?

Here’s The Scoop

In a move that has left many Americans scratching their heads, President Joe Biden has granted an unprecedented blanket pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, covering any alleged wrongdoing since 2014. This sweeping pardon is reminiscent of the infamous pardon issued by Gerald Ford to Richard Nixon post-Watergate, but with a twist that raises serious questions about the Biden family’s integrity and the future of American politics.

The pardon, which essentially absolves Hunter of any potential charges, including financial improprieties and possible bribery, has sparked outrage and concern. It’s a clear attempt by Joe Biden to shield his son from the incoming Trump administration’s Department of Justice, which is likely to investigate Hunter’s dealings. But let’s be honest—this isn’t just about Hunter. It’s about protecting Joe Biden himself from any fallout that might arise from these investigations.

Margaret Love, a former U.S. pardon attorney, and Mark Osler, a pardon expert, have both noted the extraordinary breadth of this pardon. It’s not just unusual; it’s a strategic move to cover a wide array of potential crimes, from tax violations to foreign agent registration issues. Yet, Biden remains tight-lipped, issuing the pardon before jetting off to Angola, leaving Americans with more questions than answers.

This move by Biden is a slap in the face to the American people and a blatant disregard for the presidency. It signals a lack of interest in leading the country, especially after being sidelined for a potential reelection bid. The Democrats, too, are in disarray—not because they disagree with the pardon in principle, but because it exposes their willingness to bend the rules for their own gain.

Senator Michael Bennet and former Senator Claire McCaskill have voiced their frustrations, not out of a sense of justice, but out of fear that this misuse of power will give Trump and the Republicans ammunition to do the same. It’s a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black, as Democrats have long accused Trump of breaking norms while they themselves engage in similar tactics.

The reality is that Democrats have been chipping away at the norms of American politics for years, from attacking social institutions to manipulating governmental structures. Biden’s pardon of Hunter is just the latest example of their willingness to sacrifice principles for power. The Democrats are upset not because of the pardon itself, but because Biden’s clumsy execution has laid bare their strategy for all to see.

As we look to the future, one can’t help but wonder if this is the new norm. Will every president now feel compelled to issue blanket pardons to protect themselves and their families from political retribution? If the Democrats continue down this path, it’s a real possibility. The true norm destroyers are not who they claim to be—it’s the Democrats, and their actions today could set a dangerous precedent for tomorrow.

Democrats always say Republicans are not for responsible gun laws that would protect children or the rest of us, and yet the Democrat President has a son with an illegal gun, which is disposed of in a garbage a block from a school by his late son’s widow, and decides to let them off the hook.
What a poor example by the party that says it is “the party of science” (yet won’t acknowledge the effect of testosterone on muscles) and gun laws, but the laws are only for the non-elites.
No one planted that gun on Hunter. These weren’t trumped-up charges (no pun intended) They went after
Trump and tried to sent him to prison just so he couldn’t run and beat them, yet pardons a druggie with a gun. Horrible hypocrites, and I say that as a former Democrat. JFK is spinning in his grave over what his party has become.

IT WAS THE ONLY LOGICAL THING TO DO IN LIGHT OF A FUTURE PRESIDENT VOWING REVENGE AND RETRIBUTION. THE ONLY TIME TRUMP IS CREDIBLE IS WHEN HE PROMISES SOMETHING AWFUL OR HURTFUL!

It’s not so much that he pardoned his son but that he did it for the last 10 years. Which makes everyone wonder what did he do and know.

You know his intention was ALWAYS to pardon Hunter. His vow to NOT pardon him was just a typical campaign lie to help him get votes. Once re-elected and unable to run again, (thus not needing to mollify voters,) he’d’ve been quick to forget that promise. Once the DNC pushed him aside he was depending on Kamala to grant the pardon – had she not been one of the worst candidates in history, of course. When she lost he was left with no choice but to get it done before Jan. 20th. In his shoes I’d likely have done the same thing, although the scope of this pardon throws-open all sorts of questions.

What doe she care? He has no more political life left. The Dems voted in a corrupt family with a son that was a POS. All I have to say to all that voted for Biden, “You got what you voted for”.
