President Joe Biden faced criticism for taking a trip to the Caribbean during a deadly winter storm in the U.S.
“Not only is it a vacation, but it’s somewhere warm and beautiful while others are freezing, literally, to death,” said Fox News commentator Michele Tafoya.
The White House defended Biden’s vacation in a statement to Newsweek.
“No matter where the President is, he is working,” a White House spokesperson told the outlet. “The President will continue to closely monitor updates and will remain in close touch with staff over the New Year.”
