A heated exchange erupted on CNN on Monday when political commentator Scott Jennings took a firm stand against the notion that Democrats are the party of positivity, describing President Biden as “one of the angriest, orneriest presidents we’ve ever had.”
The clash occurred during CNN’s live coverage of the Democratic National Convention, where a clip of Vice President Kamala Harris was played.
In the clip, Harris appeared to label her 2024 opponent, former President Trump, as a “coward,” contrasting her leadership style with Trump’s by suggesting that real strength lies in “who you lift up” rather than “who you beat down.”
Harris’s comments followed Trump’s sharp critique of her, accusing her of adopting “full communist” policies with her proposed “socialist price controls” plan aimed at regulating food and grocery prices.
“Trump is handing her this contrast on a silver platter, it seems,” CNN host Abby Phillip remarked.
Conservative commentator Scott Jennings challenged the notion that Democrats avoid inflammatory rhetoric.
“Are you saying that there are people the Democratic Party doesn’t beat down?” Jennings questioned. “I mean, Joe Biden’s been one of the orneriest presidents we ever had. I mean, this is not an uplifting guy.”
“Scott, c’mon. You’re saying that Donald Trump‘s rhetoric is comparable to Joe Biden‘s rhetoric? Give me a break,” Phillip retorted.
Standing his ground, Jennings reiterated his point, calling Biden one of the “orneriest, angriest” presidents, but was quickly interrupted by Phillip and co-host Jim Acosta.
“Trump is calling Kamala Harris a communist. You don’t actually believe — does anybody believe that?” Acosta interrogated Jennings.
“I mean, I don’t think she’s a registered communist,” Jennings replied. “I think her policies could easily be confused with those from countries that have tried communism. It doesn’t work out very well.”
Jennings further defended his stance by referencing critiques from liberal sources. “Just like The Washington Post said the other day, if you don’t want to be called a communist, maybe don’t install their economic platform. I didn’t write it.”
Harris’s economic proposal to establish federal price controls for food and groceries has faced criticism from multiple liberal outlets and economists, labeling it as impractical and harmful.
Despite the criticisms, Biden’s communications director Kate Bedingfield dismissed Trump’s “ugly attacks” on Harris as ineffective with voters.
Phillip remained skeptical of Jennings’ arguments.
“I have to say, Scott, honestly — you will be hard-pressed to convince voters who lived through four years of Donald Trump… I don’t think there are a lot of voters who think he is angrier than Donald Trump,” she said.
“You all may think he’s some benevolent grandfather, but that’s not the way a lot of people see it,” Jennings concluded.

It seems that Biden has a lot disappointments in politics. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride, consensus. i can understand but you know,he shouldn’t take it out on US citizens, we weren’t

Just remember how Biden tried to sabotage President Trump at every turn but couldn’t do so. So is Biden angry plain and simple yes he is. He wanted to run for another term of office just to beat down President Trump and the heck with the suffering American people. Is this an answer you where looking for?

Biden has tried to get anyone he could to send Trump to court so He could be prosecuted for any accusation possible. Even used majority Democrats sitting on juries to make this happen. Biden did nothing but destroyed the freedoms America had when he allowed millions of illegal immigrants across the border. Now we have anyone and everyone that could harm America inside the US. I hope he is happy now. I’m glad some Americans woke up to see that he was unfit to be President although it should have been made official but wasn’t.

If that’s the choice, then that’s easy – communism over fascism any day. The whole reason WWII was fought was to stop fascism. Luckily, that’s not the choice we face. Harris is moderate at best, far away from communist.

proof of the pudding is the taste not the bowl used to serve, Kamala;s policies are pure socialist, Trump was constantly having to defend himself while President. He was under constant attack by the democratic party. Look at pelosi;s act during his State of the Union Speech. Dangerous
