Walmart is getting rid of plastic bags at more than 100 locations within the next month.
On April 18, Walmart shoppers in Washington state, which has 66 stores, will say goodbye to plastic and paper bags at the checkout.
“Beginning Tuesday, April 18, 2023, Walmart stores in Washington will no longer provide plastic bags at checkout or pickup, encouraging customers to use reusable bags or containers,” the company said in a press release.
Walmart’s 45 stores in Oregon will also go “bagless” in April.
As of Jan. 2023, Walmart has removed both single-use plastic and paper bags its stores in Vermont, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Colorado, and Connecticut, per the press release.

They got rid of paper bags to save the trees, now plastic bags for some reason. They’re becoming save a lot or cost plus stores, bring your own bags, just cut open boxes and put them on the shelves. If someone buys 2 carts of groceries what do they do?

What happens when a shopper buys $200.00 worth of merchandise and doesn’t have paper or plastic bags?

Just put the items back in the shopping cart and push it out to the car. It becomes the responsibility of the shopper to provide bags or boxes to get from car into the house.
