Do You Think Amazon Workers Should Unionize?

Do You Think Amazon Workers Should Unionize?

Here’s The Scoop

In a recent shareholder meeting, Amazon’s investors took a firm stand, rejecting a slew of proposals that would have pushed the company further into the abyss of leftist ideology.

One notable proposal by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which suggested analyzing the impact of Amazon’s climate policies on workers, was shot down. The union’s proposal feared that Amazon’s “investments in electric and autonomous vehicles” could jeopardize jobs, but the shareholders weren’t swayed.

In another display of common sense, shareholders dismissed a proposition that would require board nominees to disclose their political donations. Amazon rightly pointed out that the measure was based on a “false premise,” emphasizing that individual donations don’t dictate board decisions.

However, it’s worth noting that Amazon’s political donations heavily favor Democrats, with $2.8 million funneled to liberal causes compared to a meager $79,500 for Republicans.

Additionally, a proposal to create a committee to oversee Amazon’s social and political stances was also rejected. Given Amazon’s history of backing radical leftist groups like Black Lives Matter and anti-cash bail initiatives, one can’t help but wonder how long before they face a “Bud Light moment.”

Conservatives have already shown their power to affect change, as seen with boycotts against Bud Light and Target, which led to significant financial losses for those companies. Amazon would do well to heed these warnings before it finds itself in a similar position.

Unions helped get us 40 hour work weeks, workplace safety, more secure employment, etc… Without unions, we would still be sweatshop slaves, with kids as young as 10 slaving along beside us. Banding together is the only effective way to force management/owners to do the right thing.

Unions have long since served their purposes. All the concessions that the unions managed to wrangle out of owners and management are now firmly reviewed and protected by our nosy government. It wasn’t the unions that have raised salaries across the board, but the government. Both local and federal!

Should Amazon unionize, it will no longer be a company of reasonable prices and fast delivery. Unions will be in constant battle with management for higher wages, inferior products that cost less to wholesale, and sporadic delivery. Unions don’t always make things better for the consumer
