President Joe Biden announced that his 2023 budget proposal would include a new minimum tax targeting billionaires.

The “Billionaire Minimum Income Tax” would establish a 20% minimum tax on all U.S. households worth more than $100 million, or roughly 0.01% of Americans.

If enacted, the tax would reduce the $3 trillion deficit by about $360 billion over the next 10 years.
