The 2022 midterm elections are now behind us. Experts say that one of the races “crystallized one of the main lessons.” The lesson? People who trust elections are more likely to vote.
David Becker, executive director of the nonpartisan Center for Election Innovation and Research, raised the point while discussing Republican Kari Lake’s narrow loss to Democrat Katie Hobbs in AZ’s governor race.
“If you tell people that voting is hard, or voter fraud is rampant, or elections are rigged, it doesn’t make people more likely to participate,” Beck said. “Why would you want to play a game you thought was rigged?”

Voting fraud very highly in my county in CA. I have never seen such abuse of ballots. Stolen ballots, post office blue drop boxes set on fire, some sawed open. Stolen pasteboard ballot boxes were not secured by any type of security. Post office not staffed to deal with the amount of mail in ballots. No security in the post office. Boxes of ballots against the wall. No security. My area stolen mail from private boxes.

I will vote, believing elections are still pretty much legitimate in my state! However, I have no faith in elections in several states that are key to the federal level. That means my vote for President is a waste of time because presidential elections are no longer anything but window dressing.

Sadly most democrats would do away with the electoral college not understanding that this gives states with smaller populations a vote in our presidential elections. If we used just a democratic vote, NY and California’s population’s would be all that was necessary to determine our next president.
