Are Dems Using Paul Pelosi’s Assault for Political Misdirection?

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) accused Democrats of using the assault on Paul Pelosi as a misdirection, drawing attention away from their blemishes ahead of the midterms.
“I think we should have some compassion for Paul Pelosi and not make anything about politics,” Paul said.
Paul said he noticed that all the Democrats are doing is “trying to make this about politics.”
“I think it is a misdirection thing to get away from all of the things that they’re doing so terribly with the economy, with crime and everything else,” he said.
Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), was allegedly attacked by an illegal immigrant.
“There’s an eagerness on the left to make this political and immediately to start blaming Republicans. But where’s the sympathy even from the left for Paul Pelosi?” the senator asked.
“He’s been through this horrific assault,” Paul said.
